Position within the organization
The R&D Engineer membrane technologies in DW treatment reports to the Team leader R&D Drinking Water Technology. The job is positioned within the PWNT organisation and is part of Saur Group R&D.
The R&D Engineer will join the team that develops new solutions for water treatment, based on ion exchange. This includes applications for DOC, PFAS, nitrogen removal as well as the management of the generated waste stream. You will be responsible for developing the portfolio of solutions that reduce the environmental footprint and chemical usage in water treatment.
You will be working on various research and development projects. Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing and execution of experimental projects for ion exchange (pilot) research.
- Operational and analytic data collection.
- Data analysis, reporting, interpretation and issuing the recommendations including technological progress reports and data management of the pilot research.
- Provide input for the year plan and input on progress for the quarterly reports.
- Presentation of results in Dutch and international workshops and conferences.
- (co-)Supervision of students / interns.
- Contribution to peer-reviewed publications.
Competencies
You should have the following profile and/or background:
- Education: MSc or PhD degree in chemical engineering / process engineering / chemistry.
- Knowledge and experience in ion exchange and water treatment technologies will be an advantage.
- Ability to process and analyse large data sets.
- Critical thinking.
- Writing skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Languages: Fluency in English; good level in Dutch would be beneficial.
- Independent, capable of self-structuring his/her work and taking initiatives.
- Driving license.
Location
- North-Holland (Amsterdam / Andijk).
- Full-time (40h).
